As Katherine walked out of office that day, she couldn’t feel more sorry for herself. She had no idea what she was doing at work except the fact that it would lead her nowhere. She had no love life. She had started to feel that she was going down with a cough.
There was nothing in particular that she was proud of in the past. Her present was not worth mentioning. As for the future, she couldn’t see any.
That is when another office-goer appeared out of nowhere. The woman was struggling to take every single step. Her right leg was completely twisted out of shape and pointed more than sideways. Yet, this woman moved on–with vigour.
Katherine stood frozen in her steps and watched her. For three full seconds.
She stood there feeling small. Small in her problems. Small in her vanity. She stood there humbled.
