Isn’t that the best part about relationships, Mia? They provide Christmas morning-caliber flutters any (and all) times of the year. The best of them don’t even require a long absence to inspire a joyous moment.
As in, “She had been in the other room for 27 minutes, yet the look in his eyes upon seeing her again made it clear his heart felt a reunion deferred for 27 years.
To think, as kids, we got only one day each year , December 25.
