Dream Awake

It’s easy to dream
Especially when you’re sleeping.
It’s easy because
Nobody’s peeking.

It’s easy to let
Your guard down,
When even you have no control
To give the dream a frown.

It’s easy
So we do it.
Not once, not twice,
As many times as it may hit.

What’s difficult is
To dream awake.
To have all your senses
About you for your sake.

What’s difficult is to know
This is what you want.
To dare for it,
Even if you normally can’t.

What’s difficult is to have
Eyes on you,
Sometimes to run you down,
Worse still, afraid for you.

That’s why not many
Can do it.
Let alone, try,
They never start to be able to quit.

That’s why when you do,
You are called a name.
Not because you’re that,
But for they wish they were the same.

That’s why you must go on,
Daring for your sake.
As this is your chance,
So come on, dream awake.
