Have you forgiven yourself
For those wordful arrows of poison
That you aimed at a loved one,
Wittingly or unwittingly?
Those that came back for you
In full force,
Striking you as well?
Have you yet?

Have you forgiven yourself
For those actful boulders of thoughtlessness
That you rolled down at anyone,
Wittingly or unwittingly?
Those that rolled you down
In full force,
Burdening you as well?
Have you yet?

Have you forgiven yourself
For the disappointments
That you caused someone
By simply not doing anything?
Those where they didn’t do anything
In full force,
But you can’t forget the look in their eye?
Have you yet?

If those arrows came back for you,
If those boulders rolled you down,
If you still remember the look in their eye,
I think you have suffered enough
Punishment that you gave yourself.
If not, your term is not up.
If yes, try to do better next time.
As for this time, forgive yourself.
