He had sworn to himself,
On everything he had,
On everything he was,
That never ever again
Would he make the same mistake.
He had fallen too deep down,
Been stepped on,
Been forgotten,
To make him realize
To not make the same mistake.
He had been broken
Beyond repair,
Beyond penance,
To know how to be tough
To live and not make the same mistake.
But there she was.
One look from her,
One is all it took
To make him forget all,
To make him commit the same mistake.
After all,
It was her,
It was always her
To be his doom,
To be his same mistake.
She could never be his.
He knew for a fact,
He knew from his past,
To his last cell,
To want to make the same mistake.
But his love for her
Was in his very breath,
Was in his very heartbeat,
To not be erased,
To always be his same mistake.
I really like the tension and release in your lines.

A direct presentation of the subject’s inner life – a reminder for all those passionate souls, one prefers the pain of emotional struggle instead of living blindly on the surface.
