Do what makes you happy.
Not the superficial, temporary
Kind of happy,
But the real, lasting
Kind of happy.

Don’t worry what others’ll think.
Eventually, if not immediately,
They’ll have better things to think.
Finally, you will be left alone
For yourself to think.

So stop procrastinating any more.
Give yourself permission
For so much more
That you are capable of
Than you settle for evermore.

Go, make your bones tingle with love.
Be it a person, profession or passion
Or any other form of love,
As long as it makes you truly alive,
Oh baby, it is love.

What’s stopping you now?
Stop standing in the way of your happiness
And let it flood you now.
Just do what makes you happy —
Like really, really, really happy right now.

  2. For me, being happy is having a goal in life and trying to achieve it. I don’t know if I will succeed, but having a meaning to achieve makes me move forward and be happy to have the strength to continue. my hug and wish you to be happy, Mia.🌷

  8. Beautiful. To me, the “real, lasting Kind of happy” is what we find meaningful. The people and activities that fulfill us, our hearts. And I love the line of your poem: “make your bones tingle with love.” Yes!

    But I’m always worrying what they’ll think what they’ll say…
    I wish if I could stop worrying about what others will think..
