He Came With the Rain

He came with the rain,
Unexpected
As on a clear sky day,
Uninvited
As without an umbrella,
Unabashed
As with the torrential pour.

Soon thereafter,
Changed the weather
Around and within me,
Changed the rhythm
Of things and life,
Changed so much
In so short a time.

Then the rain stopped.
With the rain who came
Had to go too.
With nature’s call,
He had to compel to.
With an abrupt stop,
The story ended.

Sometimes I wonder
Why did it have to rain
So hard sometimes,
Why can’t it always
Be clear skies above,
Why did the rain bring
Him along to take away.

Nevertheless,
For that rain,
I’m grateful.
For that spell of happiness,
I’m grateful.
For after all,
He came with the rain.
