So this is how it goes.
I say something.
You say, “Wow!”
I do something.
You say, “Oh my! How?!”
Oh no! Not once!
But every single time!
Anything from me
Should be worth your time
As soon as you see!
You do it not for yourself.
You do it for me.
As I’m a fragile creature
Who will break like glass
If not for your validation feature.
So I’m on a roll.
Oh wait! Or is it a rollercoaster?
For no matter how high
You make me feel,
I do more often really sigh.
Because I stand trapped
In my own vicious circle
Of needy validation.
Not really attractive,
But still my inclination.
So tell me, tell me!
I flutter and fidget,
Waiting to know
If this time again
You’ll help me for a moment glow.
Because after that,
It’s just myself
I have to deal with
And my whole baggage of doubt,
Whether truth or myth.
So either validate me
Or let me on my own
With my demons to face,
Till I don’t give a rat’s ass
About this whole validation haze.
What you think is important.
What everyone thinks is important.
But when it comes to me,
The only truly important person
Should be I to me!
An Author You'll Remember 
I think it’s normal to want validation but getting it’s overrated. I can’t put weight on what other people think and say or don’t say about me or my songs. I’d rather be rejected or ignored and keep striving to make something I really like.

Hi Mia, Each of us needs validation to certain degree. That is how we form our self identify, thru the feedback of others. Which leads to the last line of your writing. Well done, and thanks for sharing.
