Helping Hands

When a hand is in need,
It stretches out,
It stretches up,
Empty.

The hand is like a prayer,
Full of desperation,
Full of need,
Waiting.

Till another appears,
Equally empty-handed,
But enough
To grab onto.

It is not strength
That pulls up the other.
It is the heart
That matters.

As these helping hands
We rely on,
May we too become
Someone’s helping hands.

      1. Mia, I don’t read texts from books, for example, because I don’t speak, read or write in English. It’s easier on the blog, I use Google Translate and it makes things easier. I can, however, say that the texts I’ve read by you are all well written, with aesthetic rigor and content. I really like them. Keep writing. Hugs!

Please do have a look at my first book “Does Love Die With You?” Its details are on my blog. I think you might like that too. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  1. It is a simple poem in its form, but huge in its message. It speaks to us of the power of empathy and how the act of helping is not a demonstration of superiority, but a reflection of our shared humanity. An invitation to give, to hold, and to not forget that once upon a time we also were – or will be – that hand stretching towards the sky, waiting.

I would really appreciate it for my first book too. You have always understood my writing to the gist so your opinion matters. ๐Ÿ˜Š
