Be your best friend.
Listen to yourself.
Believe in yourself.
Cheer on yourself.
Be your best friend.
Be kind to yourself.
Forgive yourself.
Let go for yourself.
Be your best friend.
Spend time with yourself.
Do things for yourself.
Be content with yourself.
Because then
And only then,
Can you ever truly
Be someone else’s friend.
Your poem reminds us of the importance of loving and caring for ourselves first. Only when we learn to be our own friends—to listen to ourselves, forgive ourselves, and accept ourselves—can we share genuine friendship with others. It’s a simple message, yet very wise and full of tenderness.
Have a beautiful day. 🤗🤗🌼

I flew recently and was reminded of this when the flight attendant gave the oxygen mask instructions. You have to help yourself first before you can help someone else. “Spend time with yourself. Do things for yourself. Be content with yourself.” Great stuff Mia.

Very nice Mia. Indeed taking care of ourselves is key in life and we tend to forget it. Being our friend will open the door to better and truer friendship with others. ❣️❣️

Yes, we do often forget that but need to keep reminding ourselves as a rule. Glad we agree. 💕

One ought to be grateful even for the will to some subtly in interpretation. As regards to one’s good friends, however, who are always to indolent and think that because they are ones friends they have the right to indolence: one does well to allow them at first some room and latitude for misunderstanding – thus one can laugh at their expense; or get rid of them altogether.
