These three lines reminded me of a passage from the poetry of Fernando Pessoa, though with a different outcome: one day I loved, and thought I would be loved in return; I was not loved, for the only great reason—because it was simply not meant to be. Hugs, Mia.

Thanks for stopping by, Fernando.
I know you mean well. But I hope the next time you are able to enjoy my work for what it is. There can be many stuff on the same topic. These three lines took me hours to come up with on an especially difficult day.

Comparing your poem to the work of an acclaimed poet like Fernando Pessoa was meant as a compliment. I regret that you didn’t take it that way. Please accept my apologies; it won’t happen again.
