When Writers Bleed

More often than not,
Writers bleed.
They bleed like hell.
They bleed like it’s the end of the world.
At least, all the good ones do.

More often than not,
It’s courtesy their heart.
Hearts more sensitive than others’,
Hearts they have no control over.
At least, that’s what they say.

More often than not,
Writers recover also quickly.
It’s not like they have another option.
It’s just the way they are wired.
At least, that’s a consolation.

More often than not,
Writers are misunderstood.
Not that they mind it really.
Not that they expected everyone to get them.
At least, that’s what keeps them going.

More often than not,
Writers are okay being Phoenixes.
They are here today in full bloom.
They are gone tomorrow in flames.
That’s why, they bleed on paper.
